Surface Aeration & Commercial Mixing

Aeration supply for leachate ponds, stormwater retention ponds, catch basins, compost basins, agricultural and irrigation basins and ponds. We can supply turn-key systems for aeration and deicing as well as a range of natural bacterial blends to assist in achieving discharge parameters for oil and gas, pulp and paper as well as composting and waste processing facilities. Natural remedial beneficial bacteria for muck reduction, BOD reduction, algae control, cyanobacteria control, nutritent reduction, hydro-carbon clean-up and general basin remediations. Experience with the mining and oil industry as well as private companies such as composting companies, opil and gas, and meat processing firms.

Wastewater aeration is a key componant in the industrial process of stormwater, wastewater and leachate. Aeration systems are custom designed and can use surface aerators or a myriad of diffusers from tubes, disc, assemblies or pipes. Every application is different and requires a unique approach to aerating.

There are also a number of different treatment products and systems to deal with FOG (fat, oil and grease), hydro-carbons and oil treatment and spills and food process waste. A number of proprietary bacterial products are available in Canada to safely restore and maintain wastewater basins. Ammonia reduction and phosphorous reduction are common issues we deal with.

Odors and algae can be dealt with using mechanical and biological systems. In some basins, depending on influent and effluent restrictions, an aeration or mixing process will suffice, but increased efficiency can be gained by also using the proper bacterial product, or enzyme or combination.

For us to recommend a process please provide us with as much information you have regarding your existing system and your goals.

Storm water retention ponds, facultative ponds, leachate ponds, waste stabilization ponds, aerated lagoons, tanks, and batch reactors all require specialized systems. Various retention rates with the different effluent chemical make-up and temperature variations mean that each case we deal with is unique and requires a fresh approach.

We work with design and engineering firms to plan and implement your aeration system from design to installation.

Industrial waste from a fish process or vegetable process or winery process may undergo similar treatments but there are subtle calculations and variations in bacteria to control the FOG and BOD which must be examined to maintain the cost-effectiveness of the project.Acadian Aquatic Systems also can assist with de-icing of marinas, dock deicing as well as barge deicing. Maintain ice free zones on pumping stations and dams and intakes is one of our specialties. Deicing can involve using a bubbler system with a diffuser tube set at the structure or a suspended agitation device that creates a current pushing towards the surface which maintains zones of no ice.

From custom system and specialized applications we can provide full systems designed for your needs. From all-inclusive aeration systems from 20 CFM to 300 CFM we can provide or direct to source.

The simplicity of Vertex Systems allows industrial clients to add efficient aeration quickly and easily. Ideal for stormwater basins, remediation ponds, leachate ponds and wastewater basins. Turn-key systems include air pumps ranging from 1/3 HP up to 3 HP with flow ranges from 2.5 CFM up to 22.4 CFM. Multiple systems can be quickly installed to increase airflow if required or the Vertex Diffuser Assemblies can be suitable for using larger rotary-screw or rotary carbon-vane compressors from 25 CFM to 150 CFM.

The Vertex diffuser assembly has distinct advantages over other bottom-mount and lake-bed aeration diffusers. The pumping rates of the diffuser assemblies range from 2,000 gallons per minute to 20,000 gallons per minute depending on depth and number of discs.

The weighted, self-sinking diffuser base keeps the micro-bubble diffuser discs off the bottom sediment and allows for quick and easy installations. Ideal for deicing as well, air diffusers use less energy and are easier to service compared with submersed agitation style deicers.

DIFFUSER FEATURES

• More energy efficient die cut perforations

• “Delta” surface pattern increases active surface area and aeration efficiency during low and moderate air flows

• Reformulated proprietary membrane compound increases flexibility, wear, and clog resistance

• Larger, stronger diffuser ring improves membrane retention and service life

• Redesigned and strengthened diffuser body and membrane backing plate

• StableTrak™ technology increases lift velocity

• FlowControl™ technology equalizes airflow to each disk

• Base unit has a hollow chamber design for adding inert pea gravel ballast

• Lipped base design prevents diffuser from settling in to soft sediments

Products begin in research and development, go through extensive production, inspection, installation and finally, testing to ensure our products meet your specific needs for a striking focal point in your lake. As an industry leader, all we do centers around one uncompromising premise:

The Vertex Large Lake Air8 XL5TM aeration system, designed for larger lakes and reservoirs, utilizes Vertex’s latest technology to provide the most aeration for your money. Four super-duty BrookwoodTM twin cylinder HighFlowTM compressors, housed in our rustproof aluminum outdoor cabinet, providing over 22 CFM of air, feeds eight of our bottom mounted XL5 AirStationsTM. The rising force of millions of bubbles circulates the entire water column, entraining bottom water up to the surface allowing vital oxygen to be absorbed and poisonous gases expelled. With no electricity in the water, Vertex’s aeration systems are safe for most any type of water recreation. Our systems have a full 2-year warranty plus a Limited Lifetime warranty against rust and corrosion on the cabinet, 5-year warranty on the AirStationsTM and a 15-year warranty on BottomLineTM supply tubing.

Professional & Private Services for Industry and Consumers

Windmill Aeration Systems
Windmill aeration in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Atlantic Canada is a great way to use the wind to aerate fish ponds and lakes. American Eagle Windmills & Outdoor Water Solutions bal-cam compressor systems create high airflow and pressure with a 20 foot ot 24 foot windmill aerator. An airstone sits in the pond and as the wind blows the windmill aerates the pond. Typical windmill systems start from $1800.

Solar Aeration Systems
Solar aeration can provide constant aeration using deep-cell battery power that is charged using the sun. Basic systems start at around $4500 depending on the number of diffusers and size of the DC 12V compressor required.

Kasco fountains, surface aerators and de-icers including: 2400VFX, 3400D50, 8400JF, L375 Lighting kits, C-10 Thermo Controls, 5 HP fountains, De-icers, parts and service of Kasco products. Robust-Aire Aeration Systems. Aeration is key to predictable performance from your pond. Your pond environment receives life-supporting oxygen from the atmosphere at the surface where the air and water contact each other, as well as from the photosynthesis of algae and plants below the water surface. These processes are both affected by weather: available wind energy (wave action) and sunlight. Weather is unpredictable and that can create stagnant water and low oxygen levels. When there is no sunlight, there is no photosynthesis to create oxygen. In stagnant water, there is no physical energy to help the water and air exchange gases and water forms well defined layers of different temperatures. Poor environmental conditions in the pond for fish and other organisms are the result.
