Surface
Aeration & Mixing Systems
Surface aerators are
easy to install and lightweight and used primarily
for wastewater applications or commercial ponds.
Equipped with round surface floats or with pontoon
float systems the surface aerator can improve oxygen
levels and assist in mixing to reduce stagnation.
Aerating fountains are also used to improve evaopration
and coooling ponds. These surface aeration systems
are available in Canada throughAcadian Aquatic Systems . Contact

Dual-Prop
Pontoon Surface Aerator/Mixer
Flo-ration® Pontoon Surface Aerators take water
from below the surface, utilizing motorized propellers
that draw the water in an upward direction through
a long cylinder, thus creating better water flow
and/or breaking the surface of the water column,
depending of the angle of the cylinder.

This unit can be specified for a 1 or 3 phase multi-position
type aerator.
Unit shall consist of motor assembly, heavy-duty
PVC shroud and pontoons.
Motor assembly shall consist of motor housing, bronze
endbell, electronic motor, start/run components,
seals and dielectric lubricating fluid. The motor
housing shall be constructed of 16 gauge #304 stainless
steel and the endbell shall be cast bronze for corrosion-free
operation in either fresh or salt water.
The electric motor, with matched necessary start/
run components shall sit inside the motor housing,
immersed in the dielectric lubricating fluid, with
the shaft extending through the bronze endbell.
The motor shall have stator windings with double
impregnation of baked insulating varnish, and two
heavy-duty ball bearings to provide support for
the rotor.
The
motor shaft shall be #303/#304 stainless steel (not
plated), with motor shaft flinger to prevent sand
and dirt from accumulating around the endbell. The
assembly shall also contain an internal, heavy-duty,
hard-faced mechanical seal with stainless steel
components to keep assembly watertight, and an additional
seal pressed into the bronze endbell at the shaft
opeing to protect against sand and dirt abrasion.
Motor is designed for corrosion-free operation in
fresh or salt water. Motor exceeds NEMA specifications
and is UL and CSA compliant. C.E. Certified.
Custom brackets will attach motor housing to shroud.
All stainless bolts and locking aircraft nuts are
to be used.
Unit is available with 50’, 100’ or 150’ of water
resistant power cord for 115V or 50’, 100’, or 150’
or 200’ for 230V.
Unit’s steel frame has been primed and twice powder-coated
for extra protection against corrosion. Unit’s pontoons
are made from HDPA (High Density Polyethylene).
Flo-ration® Pontoon Surface Aerator comes with
a 2-year warranty.

Dual-Prop
Floating Surface Aerators
The 3/4 HP and 1 HP dual-prop surface aerators are
unique to our surface aerator line. Although they
carry the same staple of running under 9 Amps at
115V and 5 amps at 230V to ensure they save you
as much as possible on energy costs, they pump an
amazing 25% more water than their single propeller
counterparts. On top of its production and efficiency,
the dual prop assembly creates a unique umbrella
flow pattern that makes it aesthetically pleasing,
where most aerators just offer surface agitation.

These are suitable for continuous operation in both
salt and fresh water. These units are shipped complete
with mooring/positioning line and power cords. They
can be taken straight from the box and after insertion
into the float, can be moored and plugged in.
Each aerator is comprised of a sealed, submersible
electric motor, mounted by support brackets in a
PVC shroud, which sits on a float collar that has
been custom designed.
Attached
to the motor shaft is a scientifically designed
nylon axial propeller which propels the water at
the high pumping rate. As the water flows through
the bottom of the shroud and four additional holes,
it is mixed and oxygenated by the propeller and
forced to and above the surface.
If aesthetics are a concern, heavy-duty LED lighting
kits can easily be added to the aerators.
The high pumping volume degasses the water of nitrogen,
carbon dioxide, and hydrogen sulfide while raising
dissolved oxygen levels. Degassing gets rid of nutrients
which cause algae and weeds, resulting in both clearer
water and decreased odor. Aeration also mixes the
water, minimizing anaerobic zones in bottom water
and bottom sediment surface. This stimulates the
conversion of potentially toxic ammonia to nitrite
(also toxic), and finally non-toxic nitrate. With
our preassembled units, installation can be accomplished
in just minutes! Because units are lightweight,
they can easily be moved from one location to another
by a single person.

Water
Gardens & Small Ponds
Small
Water Gardens
Affordable garden pond fountains, pumps
and aeration. Koi and goldfish pond products and service. Pond dyes,
pond liners, underwater lighting and decorative accesories for small
backyard ponds and water gardens.
Beneficial bacteria and pond heaters as well as leaf netting and filters
to create waterfalls and beautiful backyard pondscapes. LED lighting
systems, liners and pond pumps for small water features, pondless
fountains, pond-free waterfalls and koi ponds.
Small ponds, water gardens andgoldfish and koi pools are becoming
more and more popular in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Atlantic Canada.
A small backyard pond is a natural ecosystem with aquatic plants and
fish. Maintaining a small water garden or fish pond can be a challenge
due to shallow depths and the small size of the liner, formed plastic
pond, or pondlesss.
The correct sized pump to create a waterfall and aeration benefits
will ensure a healthy pond. Adding natural products like bacteria,
sludge controllers, dyes and pH reducers will make pond maintenance
easier. We can provide pond liners, underwater lighting, small pumps
with fountain nozzles and attachments. Filters and skimmers and pondless
waterfall kits and complete pond kits are also available.
